Of course, that doesn't exactly follow with the whole 'make the Death Star bigger, including its vulnerabilities' idea but they've done wonders with several of their other oversights. The Empire has paid careful attention to their failings and have made solid plans to repair and improve just about everything in their inventories. The days of Stormtroopers firing random blaster fire into the air and the Rebels being assured that nobody was ever going to get hit by anything are fairly long gone.
